Green Spiders & Pink Flowers

I’m not much of a photographer, but I love to get my digital camera out and take some pictures every now and then. Of course I never seem to have it handy whenever that “perfect” picture comes along. :( .

My wife really likes flowers, and has done a great job of decorating our yard with some beautiful flowers, shrubs and plants. I thought I’d take a little time this afternoon, to get some close up photographs of some of the flowers she’s planted around the yard. Then I could do what I normally do and download them to my computer and rarely ever look at them again. (Digital cameras make that waaaay too easy!)

So I’m moving around the yard and come upon some beautiful pink/purple flowers, (sorry…but thats what I call them…do they really have a name?) In the middle of a clump Lynx Spiderof these flowers, is a cool green, translucent looking spider! I got several pics of it and later learned that it’s a “lynx spider”. I had never heard of it but have probably seen them before…just not with a flower backdrop like this…(and not while I was “holding me trusty camera”!

Anyway…it’s no big deal, but a cool looking spider just the same.

  6. Very cool picture.

You might want to create a Flickr account and upload some of your photos. (if you don’t already have one)

I hear it can also be a good source of traffic if you upload some good photos and have a decent amount of friends.

  8. Hi Log Cabin Guy – Excellent idea! I actually set up a Flickr account “way back when”, and haven’t done a thing with it. When I get some spare time I’ll work on incorporating it into my site.

You have a ton of great information about log cabins on your site. Looks great!

  10. Wow. That’s beautiful! I wish I had my own digital camera. Mine got submerged in water and… died. :( Haven’t gotten around to buying a new one. I wish I could get around to it, though. Would like to take pictures just as beautiful as yours.

  14. Cool picture. I’ve never seen a spider like that. I’m not a big fan of them, but that spider is interesting.

  20. Hi Faimous – It was a beautiful spider! It had a kind-of “translucent” look to it that really made it unique! Thanks for visiting and commenting!

  24. As if I can see, your link building strategies are not optimal, because not every page is gotta a good internal link structure. Isn’t it?

Regardless, that spider is amazing, I’ve never seen one like it!

  38. I think it is a spider which is being painted or sprayed with some chemicals. I too have never seen such a spider even on discovery channel :)

  42. What a super photo. I never seem to have my camera handy when I see something special, and usually whatever it is has moved when I get back, if I run off to get it.
I knew a chap once who simply took his camera everywhere he went, and I must admit he did take some impressive photographs.

  44. Even in photos, I’m still creeped out by spiders! Great photos nonetheless.

  46. That’s just something. I love the contrast of the green and purple. Makes you want to run for your camera and get this shot. Creepy spider, btw.

  48. This is no ordinary spider. I’ve heard of Ian McEwan’s new book Solar and I can’t help but think this may be what the physicist’s meant about climate change effects. This spider’s really weird.
