Lipstick on a Pig?

Posted on September 10, 2008

I’m a fan of Barack Obama…I’ll admit that.  I think the guy is trying to run a campaign about the issues and he has to deal with this crap from the McCain campaign.  If I didn’t know better…I’d think that the McCain campaign was creating diversions so they don’t have to deal with the tough questions that need to be discussed and answered?  And the sad part is, when something like this shows up in the media, far too many people look at what the McCain camp has said and thinks, “oh my gosh…it must be true…it’s all over the news!”  Watch below…

i find it sad. with issues like universal health care, affordable tuition, the two wars, the economy, and other really serious dilemmas on the table, it’s unfortunate that it’s distractions like this which get traction in the mainstream media, and quite probably in people’s minds. :(

  2. Eshaani on September 11th, 2008 11:37 am

I agree. You just know that lipstick on a pig is going to stay with him no. Come on Barack!

  3. TigerTom on September 12th, 2008 2:22 pm

Might be a good thing if McCain won; then he’d have to deal with the coming depression and the Iraq mess.

We’ll that’s an interesting phrase because in every way McCain resembles a pig more than Barak. Lets see…. Politically incorrect but he did live in a concentration camp for 7 years which had a lot of dirt and mud, he is closer in size to a pig, closer in skin tone, and he can’t lift his arms above his shoulders which is also a quality of a pig.

It was unfortunate slip of the mouth. I am pretty sure that was not his intention to insult Sarah Palin.

  6. Falcon Punch on September 12th, 2008 10:24 pm

I think the republicans are way over reacting. Extrapolating intentions is the essence of swiftboating.

I don’t know alot about Americas politics as for one i live in the UK. But this guy seems to make a few rather funny but good points.

  10. Sinead on September 15th, 2008 5:31 am

I live in Ireland and I think it’s hard to figure out if it was intentional or not. It’s a pity that this comment would detract from the main issues though. If he did mean it though, mudslinging is popular and effective but mud sticks Barrack!!

  11. Gustav on September 15th, 2008 6:15 am

there is something that no matter which candidate wins will be able to change… and that is the fact that the US together with the world is going the fast track to long years of economical stress.

So I think for this time being it is much better for the opposition of your favorite candidate to win and let him BURN… :D

It might have been a slip up. But, Obama seems to slip up every day. Just yesterday when comparing campaign ads with McCain and who had more negative ones, he said he did hands down. Now, of course I think he meant to say McCain did.

Chris, good to see a new post from you.

To be honest, I’m not a fan of either candidate. I truly feel as if I’ll be making the choice for the lesser of two evils. What a sad commentary on politics in our nation.

  20. gWallet on September 24th, 2008 5:58 am

And this is exactly why Obama should win. He calls it like it is, points out the BS in the ‘political system’, and then continues on to the pressing facts.

  21. Contract Hire on September 24th, 2008 10:54 am

This kind of media attention is negative all round and unfortunately distracts from the real issues, but maybe thats how it was intended by the media?

  22. Science Fiction Books on September 24th, 2008 11:04 am

It may be a slip up but when you are in the spotlight so heavily these slip ups cause big problems. I hope it isn’t too damaging for him.

  24. MonaVie on September 25th, 2008 6:34 pm

I’m all for whoever can tell us the truth and give us an outright answer that doesn’t change. There is so much going on in the economy that we can’t just dawdle around waiting for an answer. I’m with Jennifer on this one. Lesser of two evils. In my opinion, no one is ever right about everything anyway.

  25. SusanDavis on September 26th, 2008 11:28 am

It’s funny because McCain used the same expression before! They’ll do anything to avoid real issues.

  26. Traxxas RC on September 27th, 2008 1:57 pm

I’m not buying Obama’s tax cuts for the middle class, especially with this 780 billion dollar bailout going down. You can bet he’s going to raise taxes on everyone and that’s certainly not going to help my situation. My vote’s going to McCain.

  27. Stan James on September 30th, 2008 7:37 pm

I agree, McCain really needs to take a break from attacking Obama, because it gives Obama less of a chance to speak his mind about issues that are important to us.

What are you opinions on the recent debates?

  34. Myron Tay on October 9th, 2008 9:25 am

Watched the second Presidential Debate. Am getting quick sick of McCain going “My friends” and “I can do this. I’ve done it before”. He’s treating people like a bunch of gullible 13 year olds.

I think Obama has done a great job talking about the issues.

Mccain has been attempting to distract and with the recent economy problems, he desperately needs a distraction.

There are more worthwhile things to talk about that bringing up the phrase “lipstick on a pig.” This election is the most serious one. America is facing a critical moment in history.

It JUST occured to me how much Barack Obama is like David Palmer from 24. Do you think it’s possible that the likeable, fictional character has paved the way for an apparent real life version?

Sadly I can’t watch the video at work, but I agree with what you are saying. McCain has avoided answering too many questions, and it is hard to want to vote for someone who doesn’t make his stance clear.
