Yes, the much awaited, much anticipated, Toad Suck Daze festival will soon be here!
If you’re not familiar with the festival, Conway, Arkansas is the host of this annual event that has grown tremendously since it’s inception 26 years ago. Originally held at Toad Suck Lock & Dam west of Conway on the Arkansas river, the event was moved due to flooding on the river, as well as other logistical problems. It was decided to move the event back to downtown Conway in 1991, and it’s been “growing strong” ever since. It’s now considered one of the top events held in Arkansas each year.
So what can you do at Toad Suck Daze? There are lots of fun things to do for the whole family including many, many vendor booths with a wide array of arts & crafts & great food! There are carnival rides, contests and musical entertainment, typically including some big names. There is the Toad Jam 3 on 3 basketball tournament, the Stuck on a Truck contest, car show as well as 5k and 10k races. And no Toad Suck festival would be complete without the always exciting “toad races”!
It’s a really fun time that you have to personally experience if you’re in a position to. The weather is usually very comfortable “temperture wise”, but springtime in Arkansas can bring the occasional rain shower or thunderstorm so it’s always good to be prepared for that.
Conway is in Faulkner county which is a “dry county” meaning no alcohol sales as far as liquor stores or vendor booths at the event. There are several private clubs in Conway that do serve alcohol with meals if interested.
So mark your calendar for the first weekend of May this year and every year and plan to visit Conway for a great time at Toad Suck Daze!

There’s also an antique car show on Saturday morning. I like seeing the older vehicles and hearing all the raw power when they start them up. They make a classic sound that most modern vehicles don’t have.
And you can’t forget that you can get almost any food on a stick. Even gator (which tastes a lot like chicken, as you might guess).
Good points Beppo! Fast cars and great food…can’t beat that!
I have posted a couple of videos of the street performers, The Loose Marbles, who performed at Toad Suck Daze Saturday and Sunday. They were really, really good. I thought they were the best thing at the festival this year.
Feel free to link to them.

I was interested in having a booth for my Pre-Paid Legal business at Toad Suck Daze in 2009.
I was wandering how to go about this.
Thanks
