Will You Stop Smoking In 2010?

December 22, 2009 by Chris

As we approach the end of 2009, I want to give thanks for my wonderful friends and family.  As each year passes, I feel myself appreciating those people more and more.

And with each year that passes, I realize how fragile life is.  More friends and people I know, die each year.  I find myself appreciating my own life more and more.  I think about my own health and what I can do to improve it.  And while I try not to dwell on the past, I do find myself reflecting on the harm I’ve done to myself over the years.

I quit smoking back in 2003 and that was a huge accomplishment that I wish every person who smokes, could experience.  I realize that many people “enjoy” smoking…& I have to admit that I did as well once upon a time.  But something inside told me that it wasn’t right and that I needed to give up the habit and I did.  Haven’t looked back since.

I’d love to help others quit smoking, because I know how hard it can be to quit.  I personally quit with the help of hypnosis and I think thats one of the easiest ways to “kick the habit”.  But regardless…if there is anything I can do to help you stop smoking, please let me know.

I’ve created this new site that will be geared towards the use of hypnosis for smoking cessation.  The link to the site is www.HypnosisSmoking.net.  Please check it out sometime.  It is an affiliate site, which means that I do receive compensation if someone purchases a program through the site…but that doesn’t take away from the fact that I want it to be useful and helpful to those trying to quit.  I plan to add a lot of free resources and give out as much advice and help as I can.  If you know someone trying to quit…please pass along the url.

I don’t know if I will post again before the end of the year or not?  If not, I wish you all a Merry Christmas & a Happy New Year!

Chris

Quitting smoking is a big accomplishment. It may be the toughest thing that a person does in their life. Your body gets so used to the nicotine, that you go into withdrawal without it. Hypnosis sounds like a great way to kick the habit though.

The fact that you have grown by giving up smoking is a wonderful thing, not only for you but for those around you.

I don’t know that I would have had the strength. Happily I never started smoking, so I didn’t have to quit.

However, in life, it is impossible not to be addicted to something. Some would say committed to something.

If someone has a strong attraction for something, there you are.

Based on my experience, the most important thing that can help us to quit smoking is your determination and willingness to stop this bad habit. If we don’t have those, whatever treatments we have won’t help us to quit smoking. I start smoking when I was 12, and I quit smoking at the age of 24. I used to smoke 2 packs of cigarette a day. And it wasn’t that hard for to quit smoking. I mean I just woke up one day, and realize I need a big change in my life. And one the things I want to change in my life is my smoking habit. So, I just stop, like that. No need to go to some rehabilitation center or any other kind of treatments.

  192. What Happens to Your body if you
    stop smoking Right now?

I think one of the main reasons it’s so hard to quit smoking is because all the benefits of quitting and all the dangers of continuing seem very far away. Well, here’s a little timeline about some of the more immediate effects of quitting smoking and how that will affect your body RIGHT NOW.
In 20 minutes your blood pressure will drop back down to normal.
In 8 hours the carbon monoxide (a toxic gas) levels in your blood stream will drop
by half, and oxygen levels will return to normal.
In 48 hours your chance of having a heart attack will have decreased. All nicotine
will have left your body. Your sense of taste and smell will return to a normal level.
In 72 hours your bronchial tubes will relax, and your energy levels will increase.
In 2 weeks your circulation will increase, and it will continue to improve for the
    next 10 weeks.
In three to nine months coughs, wheezing and breathing problems will
dissipate as your lung capacity improves by 10%.

In 1 year your risk of having a heart attack will have dropped by half.
In 5 years your risk of having a stroke returns to that of a non-smoker.
In 10 years your risk of lung cancer will have returned to that of a non-smoker.
In 15 years your risk of heart attack will have returned to that of a non-smoker.
So, you have more immediate things to look forward to if you quit now besides just
freaking out about not being able to smoke.
