Welcome Home Army National Guard’s “D” Company, 114th Aviation Brigade

Today, myself along with several family members had the opportunity to welcome home my sister-in-law, SFC Jennifer Broach, from an 18 month long deployment in Iraq. I don’t care who you are or what you think of politics…it was a very happy and emotional experience to see our soldiers coming back home to all their friends and family!

The 114th Aviation Brigade arrived at Camp Robinson today around noon, and was greeted by a crowd of people that were truly glad to have them home. I consider myself “extended family”, but I was just as excited as anyone in the building when these soldiers walked through the door.

Goosebumps? You bet! I bet everyone in the building had them as the soldiers walked proudly into the building. It was hard to imagine that these fighting women & men had spent the last year and a half enduring far less than hospitable conditions as well as danger around every corner, to serve our country! What a sacrifice they’ve made as well as their families!

I could ramble on, but what I really wanted to say is,
WELCOME HOME JENNIFER AND WELCOME HOME TO THE REST OF THE 114TH AVIATION BRIGADE!!!!!!!!!!!!! WE LOVE YOU GUYS FOR WHO YOU ARE AND ALL THAT YOU ARE DOING FOR OUR NATION! THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Here is a short video as they walked in the door. SFC J. Broach leading the way! (Sorry the video is so crappy…taken with my camera and not an actual video recorder)

  6. Here’s hoping she doesn’t have to go there again. It’s crazy that these young men and women have more combat experience than any previous generation, in our supposedly peace-loving times.

  12. At least they’re getting a parade. The war is not popular here in the UK. Not many turn up.
