Finally, My Meme Tag Post

After experiencing some difficulties with yesterday’s post, I think I’ve got it worked out. I had a lot of trouble getting the picture layout correct, and published the post before making sure it was right. Sorry. So…on to my post about meme tags…
Meme Tags
As I had mentioned last week, I was tagged a couple of times by fellow bloggers that I’ve recently met. I have to say that I was surprised and flattered to be recognized by my new friends :). But I also have to admit that I’m probably going to end up being crappy when it comes to meme tags. You see, I have no problem at all sharing some information about myself, but I have this weird kinda issue with tagging others for something like this? I think it’s because it reminds me so much of the “chain emails” that I always receive. You know, the ones that tell you that you must send this email on to 10 other people or something horrible will happen to me
The people I received the meme tags from, clearly gave me an “out”, and told me that their feelings wouldn’t be hurt if I didn’t play along, so I know their intentions are good. I thought about this a lot, and if I play along, according to the rules, I’d have to tag 12 other bloggers! So I’m spending more time trying to find 12 other bloggers who haven’t been tagged recently, and spending no time on blogging?!?! Feeling a little pressure to blog about something in particular and worry about who else I’m going to involve in the process takes the fun out of blogging for me
So here is what I’ve decided to do. I’m going to respond to both tags in one post, and add the links to the others that have already been involved, then call it good. That way, everyone at least gets a link back from me. Feel free to label me as a “party pooper” if you see fit,
I do want to tell my taggers that I really do appreciate your interest in me and what I’ve got going on here!
My first tag was from Angela Betts. Angela is a fellow Arkansan who writes about a “Baby Boomer’s News, Reviews & Observations“. I see that Angela was tagged by Sire, but I’m not real sure where this meme started? Oh and by the way…I had never heard of the word, “meme” until I started blogging? And while I’ve read definitions of what it’s supposed to mean, I’m still not sure if I’m using it correctly in a sentence? Bear with me…..
So here’s the deal. I’m to list 7 things about myself, then leave a comment with 7 other bloggers who are asked to carry on the tag, (meme, meme tag, tag meme?!?!?) But as mentioned above, I’ll skip trying to find 7 other bloggers who haven’t already been tagged.
- I won’t eat liver. Thats just not right?!?!
- Some of my favorite times are spent just enjoying the simple things in life. Sitting around a campfire with family & friends, riding 4-wheelers, a quiet afternoon on the lake.
- I’d love to write a book some day…I just don’t know what it would be about? I think thats why I like blogging so much. Gives me a chance to write about whatever I want and it won’t take me years to finish it!
- I’ve worked for the same company for almost 19 years. Thats all I have to say about that.
- I was once considered a “certified hypnotherapist”. It’s cool stuff!
- I’ve reached the point in life where you start to realize that enjoying the time you have here and helping others is what it’s all about. The little story, that you’ll probably never hear a man lying on his death bed saying, “boy…I wished I’d spent a little more time at work” is really ringing true to me these days! (see #4 above)
- My family means everything to me. I’d be lost without them!
So now you know 7 things about me. The next tag was from Don at AffiliateWatcher.com. The theme for Don’s tag is the “The Face Behind The Blog” that was started by David Airey. It’s definitely nice to go through and actually see some of the people who’s blogs I’ve been reading!
So without further ado…
This is a group shot of my family. Stepson on the left, daughter next to him, me & my wife. This pic was taken at a beautiful little creek on some of our friend’s property.
We take every opportunity that we can, to go riding our ATV’s with friends. It’s not uncommon for us to ride 30 or 40 miles in a day, the majority spent on little trails that rarely see much traffic. There is so much beauty to be enjoyed when you get away from the hustle and bustle of the city. I tell my wife that hopefully someday, my blogging will be done from a little cabin in the woods!

A picture of me and my lovely wife. The focal point here, is supposed to be the heart shape in the bark of the tree. When I resized the pictures for this post, I think I dropped the resolution a bit much and the shape is kinda hard to see!
Now a shot of me and my little one at the same tree.
For me, this little girl is what it’s all about! Sometimes we leave her with a sitter when we go out of town for the weekend. I get teased a lot because I’m so anxious to get home and see her again!
They grow up way too fast though, don’t they? All I know is that I want to cherish every day with her, let her know that she’s truly loved and teach her to be a kind, loving person.
This is a picture of me enjoying some quiet time on the lake. This was taken earlier this year after I had de-winterized the boat. I had spent most of the day cleaning the boat up and just couldn’t resist the call of the water! I don’t normally take the boat out by myself because I swim pretty much like a rock. But I couldn’t help myself this day.
Hopefully this tells you a bit more about who I am.

Chris,
Thanks for the good hearted way to include yourself without continuing on. Wish I’d thought of that.
I don’t think I’ll be playing this game anymore either. I agree with you that it IS a lot of work and I worried about whether the bloggers I tagged would be annoyed.
ATV’s, huh? DH and I each have an ATV, too, but we usually only ride them when the grandkids are visiting from out of state or we have guests that like to ride them.
Great pics of you and your lovely family. Of course, Arkansas provides lots of beautiful scenery to include in any picture.
Thanks again for being a good sport about the tag. ‘preshatecha!

Hey Chris, nice post!
Nothing surprises me though (well, except for the certified hypnotherapist).
Nice to see there are like minded people in the Blogosphere!
Keep up the good blogging.
Don
Hi Angela,
Glad there were no hard feelings on the meme tag, :)!
Yes…we have a couple of 4 wheelers and try to spend a lot of time riding when possible. It’s an awesome way to see some of the finest places in Arkansas!
Thanks for dropping by to visit! Check in when you can and I’ll do the same!
Chris
Hi Don!
Ha! Trust me…you’re not the first to raise an eyebrow with regards to me learning hypnosis! It was just one of those things in life that I felt compelled to do. Best part is I quit smoking with hypnosis and helped quite a few others quit as well! That makes it all worth it.
Thanks for dropping by. I’ll be checking out your blog for affiliate tips!
Chris
Great of you to join in, Chris!
I’ve linked to your post in my original article.
All the best.

It’s nice to see pics of you and your family having fun. It kinda makes me more anxious to start a family of my own. Too bad i’m not financially ready yet…lol. The last thing i want to do is to jump into a marriage and have to argue about money from the start.
