Keyword research is a tool that can be very helpful for new bloggers and seasoned bloggers as well. How so? The popularity of a specific keyword or keyword phrase can help you determine what people are searching for. If you think you’d like to create a niche blog or website about the trombicula alfreddugesi, and hope to make some money by catering to others that may be interested in this little creature, then it would behoove you to do some keyword research to find out if anyone ever searches for the term. Uhhh…sorry…but you might want to pick something else to blog about.
You see…if your goal is to bring in readers and profit from those readers, ideally you want your site to be focused on a particular niche and then write articles or content to support that. It’s really easy to find out what people are searching for. I’ve added a handy little “Keyword Research” tool in my sidebar for you to try out if you like. (Go ahead…I know you want to plug Trombicula Alfreddugesi in there :))The tool is compliments of Digital Point Solutions, and something I use A LOT! You can even get the code from their site to add it to yours if you would like to share the tool with your own readers.
Hope you’ve found this post useful. If so, you might want to subscribe to my blog.

I always use the research tool before making a niche informational website about anything. I trust the overture the most, as the others can be very misleading.
Thanks Wii Fit,
I’ve used the Overture tool, but heard that it was supposed to be going away? Also, any searches I do right now, show that they were last updated in Jan 07? Thats when I started looking for an alternative. I also found this tool which seems to provide more detail. I’ll check into it a bit more.
Of course the folks that are serious about keyword research would say we should be using Wordtracker or some form of paid tool. Right now, a paid tool is not in my budget and the free tools work just fine for what I’m doing.
Thanks for dropping by!
I used to use overture too. But then I got way too busy to update my own blog, so I just browse through others’ when I’ve got the time. I love commenting!
And thanks for sharing the keyword research tool! I’ll have my friends take a look at it.
I agree with you, keyword suggestion really are useful. however, I use this kind of tool before I create my own website. because i create my website using my keywords.

Hi Ruri - You are correct….the best time to use the tool is “before” you decide on your niche site. Thanks for your comments and for dropping by!
