This may be a little off-topic from my normal writings…but something I thought you might enjoy. I’ve used self-hypnosis & meditation in the past to quit smoking, reduce stress and to help with various other issues that have arisen in my life…so it’s something that I believe in and promote.

So when I learned about this product, I must say I found it quite fascinating! There is a free session that doesn’t require you to sign up or anything. Simply follow the instructions and you get like a 20 minute session for free! No strings attached…nothing to download and you’re not giving anyone your email! If you’re not “de-stressed” after trying this…then you’ve got serious problems! After my trial session, I’m seriously considering signing up for the 6 month deal, but I want to check it out a little more. If anyone tries it and has a comment on how it works…please share your thoughts!

I watched the video, and the womens voice sounds soothing. However to quit smoking, I found just reading Allen Carrs stop smoking book worked for me.

As someone who smoked for a decade, and quit successfully, the best way to quit is to look at oral cancer pictures. Even lung cancer pales in comparison. A growth that inhibits your abilities to eat, talk, breathe, and just look normal in general is not worth anything. Oh yeah, the <5 yr survival rate is less than ideal also.

As I listen ti the video, the woman has a very relaxing voice. That’s good if it helps you t quit from smoking.

I guess this helps a lot to get relaxed and in control of the mind.

Hypnosis is a great tool for self improvement. The coolest part about is learning how the mind works. It’s not as straight forward as you would think. Has any one seen Derren Brown’s TV specials? He is an amazing hypnotist.

I have always been a little bit skeptical about self-hypnosis and meditation but when I hear people describe what it has done for them I am very intrigued. Even if it has the benefit of de-stressing I would certainly be willing to consider it. Thanks for the post!

Hypnotizing for a good cause like it ‘s mentioned in the above articles is a welfare act. The persons willing to give up smoking but can’t can adopt this method.

  27. Beginner Skis on March 9th, 2008 4:45 pm

I tried hypnosis, patches, gum etc to give up smoking. In the end, it was about my 5th attempt going cold turkey that I finally managed to give up. Its been just over a year now.

I experimented with some mediation/relaxation/hypnosis tapes back in the day. I found them useful for calming the mind before sleep. I think I share this issue with a lot of people: when I go to sleep I often can’t stop thinking about work/school/social issues. It’s a real pain having useless thoughts cut into your sleep time! If I was a smoker, I would definitely try these tapes.

I think Hypnosis is a good thing, i think most of the time alot of things are created by the mind and so hypnosis will get rid of that. I work for Pitstop Marquees in Birmingham, and manage a small team, get very stressed and smoke. I tried hypnosis a few weeks ago and it seems to relieve stress and therefore reduce the amount of cigarettes i smoke, therefore saving me money, yay!
